Clean-up exercise in Buipe

In line with government’s commitment to improving environmental cleanliness and promoting sustainable waste management, the staff of the Central Gonja District Assembly, and residents of the Buipe township conducted a clean-up exercise on Saturday, 1st November 2025, in fulfillment of the reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day (NSD) initiative by H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

The exercise commenced promptly at 6:15 a.m. and covered the entire community, focusing on sweeping the main roads and lorry stations, desilting choked drains in front of stalls, and collecting waste for disposal at the designated final dumpsite.

Notable in attendance was the DCE Hon. Fuseini Mahama, the Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Abubakari Sule and other key staff members.
